Our Story

Mitch’s Seafood was established in 2008 by three families with a long history of fishing in the Point Loma area of San Diego. All families are very actively involved in the local fishing community. Our core values are passed down from their passion of our local ocean, the fish that swim there and sharing those bounties with the public. We specialize in fresh seafood from the waters off San Diego.  We are located on San Diego’s working waterfront with a view of the fishing fleet, and we focus on simply prepared, California-style seafood and craft beer & wine from San Diego and California.

Our seafood comes almost exclusively from the waters off San Diego and Northern Baja. Most of our fish is either caught by us or by fishermen that we know.  Furthermore, as fishermen, stewardship of the ocean is extremely important to us.  At Mitch’s Seafood, we utilize only sustainably caught seafood, and work with a number of groups to ensure a clean and vibrant future for our beaches and oceans.

At Mitch’s Seafood we are committed to the principles of sustainability, seasonality and craft food. All of our fish, meat and produce are sustainably caught, raised or grown. Whenever possible we work directly with fishermen and farmers to prepare everything we can in house, with an eye toward seasonality and tradition. Our preference towards local food doesn’t stop with our seafood.  We offer craft beer from many of San Diego’s famous breweries, and wine from family vineyards throughout California.  

Seafood and the ocean are our passion here!  Whether you have lived in San Diego all of your life, or are a visitor here for the first time, Mitch’s Seafood is the place to get a taste of what our local waters have to offer.
